BROTHERFILMS is led by Emmanuel François, producer and founder of the company. The company develops and produces mainly documentary films — an ideal form for exploring contemporary society, and a powerful medium to capture the world, its ambiguities, and its vertigo.
He is joined by Joseph Dupont-Moreau and Tamara Setton in production, and by Camille Poulain in development. BROTHERFILMS also works with associate producers and a loyal team of directors, cinematographers, editors, graphic designers, musicians, illustrators, and writers — all encouraged to express their creativity.
BROTHERFILMS embraces a wide range of productions: major documentary films aimed at broad audiences, as well as more intimate works that allow for singular and unconventional forms of storytelling. The company’s films explore geopolitics, history, the arts, culture, and major social issues.
BROTHERFILMS’ productions are regularly highlighted in the French and international press and at festivals. They have received several awards, including Hecho en México – DocsMX 2021, the FIGRA Grand Prize and the Terres d’Histoire(s) Award in 2021, the FIGRA Grand Prize in 2019, the FIPA d’Or in 2014, and the Lauriers Awards of French Radio and Television in 2015.
BROTHERFILMS’ teams have twice received the Albert Londres Prize:
— Alex Gohari and Leo Mattei (2021) for On the Line – America’s Deportees
— Arthur Bouvart and Jules Giraudat (2025) for The Havana Syndrome
BROTHERFILMS was also awarded the PROCIREP Producer Prize in 2021.
